Quality Engineer Aerospace background

JOB SUMMARY:
Oversee, audit and maintain Analyze and interpret customer requirements and implement them (e.g. Shop Floor, vendors). Provide engineering liaison services for staff and operations personnel to ensure parts are manufactured to customer requirements. Interface with customers to resolve quality and technical issues

Perform or direct quality personnel who perform the following:·
Interpret customer contracts, drawings & specifications to determine quality requirements & develop quality plans.·
Interface with customer to clarify quality requirementsas necessary.·
Review manufacturing planning to ensure compliance to customer quality requirements, modifying planning as necessary.·
Perform first article inspection and maintian records per customer requirements.·
Perform in-process and receiving inspection as required to support manufacturing.·
Perform final inspection and compile source inspection packages for customers.·
Coordinate cause and corrective action on nonconforming material.·
Coordinate charge reversals for rework and returns.·
Maintain quality records per customer requirements.·
Oversee gage calibration, age sensitive compounds and Bond areas.·
Support concurrent engineering and producibility efforts.

Train and certify employees on quality processes as required, including:·
NDT (penetrant and x-ray)·
Welding certifications·
ISO 9001:2000/AS9100A, NADCAP·

Coordinate root cause& corrective action analysis with customers.
Audit quality system for compliance to customer requirements
Coordinate quality system audits with customers
Coordinate customer improvement projects.

QUALIFICATIONS·
Technical ability to develop processes and tooling to manufacture products through the analysis and interpretations of customer drawings, requirements and specifications·
Desired areas of expertise include welding, froming, bending and/or machining·

Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline plus 5-7 years of related work experience or Associates Degree and 10-12 years of related work experience· Strong supervisory skills essential· Computer, MRP systems, ISO 9001:2000 and Nadcap experience highly desirable.
