Raytheon's Engineering's Mechanical Engineering Directorate (MED) leads in mechanical hardware design, development and production of radar, sonar, torpedo and combat system equipment. The MED uses state-of-the-art tools, processes technology and Raytheon Six Sigma principles.

Job Description:
The Processes and Operations section of the Materials Engineering Department provides technical expertise in metallurgy, composites, coatings, chemistry, welding and nondestructive testing. We are currently in need of an individual who will provide technical oversight and be responsible for non-destructive testing in support of the manufacturing and inspection of a wide variety of products.
• Develop, implement, monitor, and verify processes and procedures for both NDT and visual weld inspections.
• Effectively develop and communicate NDT specifications, processes, and procedures in support of in-house inspection and external supplier activities.
• Perform technical oversight of NDT inspections and interpretations in order to verify thorough execution of all Technical Data Package Requirements.
• Maintain records as required in support of Technical Data Package Requirements.
• Interact and effectively communicate with direct labor personnel, engineers, managers and customer representatives in support of NDT activities.
• Respond and quickly resolve technical and scheduling issues.

Skills:
Basic Qualifications:
• Require education: BS degree in an Engineering Discipline
• NAS410 Level III Certification in radiographic, ultrasonic, eddy current, magnetic particle and penetrant inspections.
• 4+ years of NDT experience with electronic hardware and welded enclosures housing electronics.
• Ability to interpret complex drawings and specifications.
• Ability to review manufacturing process flow sheets and identify appropriate steps and sequence of nondestructive inspection points.
• Ability to audit and perform quality control functions is required.
• Travel to outside NDT suppliers

Desired Qualifications:
• Ability to work well with people and be able to achieve results with a minimum of conflicts and within schedules.
• Ability to conduct re-certifications and re-calibrations within required intervals.
• Ability to motivate inspectors to perform required tests and calibrations.
• Working knowledge of Military and Commercial Materials and Process Specifications
• Desire and ability to work as a team member is essential with demonstrated team leadership skills a definite plus
• Adaptable and willing to work varying assignments
