SCOPE:
Utilizing your skills to continuously define, develop, and review the maintenance of the project QA program.
Support the QA Manager and QA Lead with implementation of the Horizon Project quality management systems, during the project by effectively undertaking various quality functions.
KEY AREA OF CONTRIBUTION:
You will support the implementation and administration of project quality assurance while continuously monitoring programs/procedures.
Provide guidance and expertise in the utilization of various inspection technologies.
Provide guidance on application of regulator requirements, industry codes and Horizon Standards.
Implement Audit Program to measure quality performance of contractor and suppliers.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Act as a key part of the overall Horizon Project Management Team, working closely with many diverse disciplines including project managers, purchasing, engineering, operations, maintenance and contractors.
Assist the QA Manager and Lead with the development and implementation of project quality policies and procedures.
Conduct compliance audits, both internally and externally, to verify conformance with the Horizon project quality requirements.
Assist in the maintenance of a database which tracks all quality records, and any other technical records as required to support reliability and integrity efforts.
Resolve day-to-day QA issues as they arise.
Report on QA issues to management.
Promote quality awareness, continuous improvement to influence the overall success of the project.
Other duties as directed.
Skills:
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:
Education & Experience:
Minimum 10 years Quality Assurance / Quality Control experience
Oil sands experience an asset
Preferred applicants will have post secondary education in a related field (Electrical/Instrumentation/QA).
Previous experience in an operating plant performing inspection function to written standards & procedures within an Owner Program and ensuring compliance to industry standards and government regulations.
Intermediate Computer Skills, experience with of Microsoft Outlook Microsoft Office Software & strong understanding.
Ability to understand written work related documents, including engineered drawings and Bill of Materials.
Personal Qualities:
Willing to share your knowledge, and equally willing to listen to your team members.
Ability to work independently, and handle multiple projects of competing priority.
Work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational skills, communication skills, and attention to detail.
