Role Summary/Purpose
The Technical Leader NDT & Inspection will demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization. You will be involved in long-term planning and contribute to the overall strategy and manages complex issues within functional areas area of expertise.
Essential Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership for a team of NPI engineers working on NDT inspection and test projects assigned to RTCOE typically involving gas turbine, steam turbine, generator and wind products
Assure all inspection NPI products meet technical and design requirements
Develop cross functional relationships with interfacing organizations such as Product Line, PR&S, Sourcing, Field Services, Power Services, Global engineering and Global Research
Support service program fulfillment for new NPI products through R0, R1 process
Provide strong guidance and contribution to multi generation technology plans for inspection related technologies
Communicate progress to all levels of the organization
Mentor and develop less experienced personnel
Skills:
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Physics
Minimum of 3 years technical project management in machine design, component design or robotic design
Minimum of 2 years exposure to NDT (UT or ET) project development

Desired Characteristics
Masters of Science in Engineering
Additional experience in steam turbine, generator
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification (GE employees only)
Sound mechanical design and analytical background
Familiarity with manufacturing processes, mechanical & non-destructive testing related to power generating machines
Demonstrated ability to drive projects to completion
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Able to interface effectively with all levels of the organization and external customers
Develops a strong team and breeds positive moral
Understands business objectives and drives specific tasks required to meet the objectives
Understands GE's products, capabilities and limitations in sufficient detail to be able to develop offerings that meet customer needs
Communicates the business vision effectively in an open and consistent manner
Encourages input from all members of the team
Displays good interpersonal skills is accessible and approachable
Expertise managing NDT projects
Anticipates customer needs and ensures that they are met
Measures processes and performance through the customer's eyes
Communicates messages clearly and concisely
