Desert NDT, a nondestructive testing business for over 30 years, is looking for Assistant Radiographer in Williston, North Dakota.
Position Summary
Desert NDT is currently looking for Carded Assistant Radiographer to support our operations in Youngstown, ND. The Assistant Radiographer will assist the Level II Radiographer performing calibrations, Nondestructive Tests, and evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations according to written criteria.
Responsibilities
Actively participate in Desert and Client safety programs
Responsible for assisting in client satisfaction as directed by supervising Technician
Manipulates the radiation source and performs the physical image shooting
Assists Technician in film development and interpretation as needed
Fill out daily radiation reports
Adheres to the Company Code of Conduct
Obtains and maintain all required certifications and licenses
Perform other job related tasks as assigned by management and Level II Radiographer
Physical Demands and Work Conditions
Standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, fingering, feeling, talking, hearing, visual acuity, accommodation and color vision
Moving, carrying, lifting, objects in excess of 50 lbs
Climbing and working off of ladders, stairs, and scaffolding in excess of 100 ft
Working extended hours and standing for extended periods of time
Work in indoor and outdoor environments in conditions of extreme heat and cold
Work in and near industrial hazards
Skills:
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent
Certified or Certifiable Level II in any of the NDT/NDE methods (i.e. RT, MT, PT, UT and VT) Industrial Radiography Radiation Safety Program (IRRSP), agreement state card or card for radiography compliance
Knowledge of field NDT/NDE equipment
Basic computer skills, preferred
Knowledge in application and compliance requirements of regulatory codes (OSHA, EPA, etc.) and industry standards and recommended practices (API, NFPA, ASME, etc.) is preferred
