Quality Manager – TS-16949, APQP, high volume machining, leadership

We are searching for a Quality Leader to join their core management team, helping to set the direction of the company. This Manager will guide and direct quality engineers, inspectors and technicians. The Quality Manager will interact with customers and lead APQP activities, ensuring requirements, processes, time tables and customer satisfaction. This position involves maintaining and improving the Quality Management System, writing procedures, conducting audits and manage third party audits, ensuring TS compliance. The Quality Manager will analyze and monitor quality data and metrics to identify trends, improvement opportunities and standard work. We are searching for hands on candidates with a proactive approach to quality, strong documentation and communication skills are required. The Quality Manager will develop technical reports, work instructions, procedures, control plans and corrective actions. Past experience programming and approving PFMEA, PPAP flow diagrams, material certifications and corrective actions is needed. Candidates will need good problem solving skills using 5Why and 8-D methodology, as well as using root cause, cause and effect, Parado, fishbone analysis and other problem solving tools. This position requires interaction and coordinating with engineering, sales, production and executive management. Experience working with and training highly skilled hourly associates is required. The Quality Manager spends a major portion of the day working on the shop floor, training, resolving issues, identifying areas needing improvement and ensuring, compliance. Experience planning, scheduling, coordinating, setting goals, objectives and action plans is a must. The ideal candidate will have direct experience working in a high volume production machining environment with threading, drilling, broaching, chamfering, milling, knurling, tapping and common machining processes. Knowledge of gauging and metrology methods is needed.

MUST HAVE: a Bachelors degree or equivalent experience along with a minimum of 5 years of quality management. Knowledge of TS-16949, auditing and APQP requirements is a must. Experience in a production turning environment is a huge plus. The ideal candidate will have past experience working in a production CNC turning, swiss CNC lathes, automatic screw machine, rotary/dial/line transfer machining environment.
