General Manager – automotive, tier one, machining, P&L, budgeting, team build
A long time, stable and well managed corporation continues to grow and invest in new technology. Looking for career growth? We have a client searching for a long term executives to continue the growth of the company. This corporation has a world class team of valued associates dedicated to quality, productivity and continuous improvement. They are ramping up to launch several more major programs which will greatly increase sales. These new programs require additional capital investment and plant expansion. This facility employs over 150 associates and continues to hire new highly skilled team members. Our client produces a wide range of engine and transmission components. This corporation has a wide variety of machining, assembly and metal finishing processes. This includes grinding, drilling, broach, cnc lathes, mills, transfer machines and high production screw machining. They also have special automated equipment and automated inspection systems. Our client provides low cost health insurance and many other good benefits. The General Manager is also eligible for performance incentives.
The General Manager is responsible for leading multiple manufacturing facilities and part of the core executive management team. This position will lead, guide and direct the activities of production, operations, materials, purchasing, quality and engineering. The General Manager will develop strategic plans, goals and objectives continuing the growth of the company. Past experience developing budgets, monitoring, P&L, and both financial and production metrics / KPI’s is required. Knowledge of accounting principles and experience working with plant financial executives is needed. Past experience managing in a high growth environment and plant start up is a huge plus. The ideal candidate will have experience working for a medium size corporation / tier one supplier or managing and overseeing new product launches from the executive level. Qualified candidates will need a minimum of 5 years of executive management experience, Bachelors degree, proven team building skills, P&L, operations, strategic planning, strong experience using ERP / MRP software, automotive, machining / manufacturing and strong leadership skills. Knowledge of Plexus ERP software is a plus, APQP and production launch experience is also a plus. The GM will manage and mentor associates who head up the launch process. Candidates who are promotable to the VP or President level are strongly preferred. This is a great opportunity for someone to build upon a successful company.
