RICA. This division produces orthopedic implants, bone
screw, surgical instruments and medical devices. Their
Costa Rica plant is well established having highly
skilled machinists, programmers and tool & die
professionals. This is a large plant serving most of the
major medical OEM’s. This career opportunity could be a
year or 2 tour, or long time position. The employee will
have a choice to move back to one of the U.S. facilities
in a year or two.

We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to support
the medical device business unit. Our client will
consider either on the job experience or degreed
candidates. The Manufacturing Engineer will work
directly with customers providing machining solutions.
This Engineer interacts with designers to discuss
tolerances, critical features and process capability.
The Manufacturing Engineer reviews solid models and
develops the full cost estimate responding promptly to
RFQ’s. This position involves selecting the optimum CNC
machine tool, calculation of cycle times, designing
tooling, fixturing, process drawing and process
development and CNC programming is a plus. The ideal
Manufacturing Engineer will need multi-axis CNC
processing experience. Knowledge of equipment such as 5
axis machining centers, multi-axis lathes with live
tooling, mill/turn, swiss CNC lathes and wire/sinker EDM.
Interested candidates do not need to have experience on
every CNC machine tool, however, strong machining
applications experience on multi-axis equipment.
Knowledge of speeds, feeds, cutting tools, fixturing and
micro machining is required. Good problem solving
skills, troubleshooting and the ability to support shop
operations is needed. Manufacturing Engineers with
previous orthopedic impact and micro machining is a plus.

MUST HAVE: experience developing cost estimates,
developing processes, designing tooling, fixturing, 3-D
CAD and multi-axis CNC machining experience. CNC
programming is a plus. Knowledge of medical device
manufacturing and micro machining is preferred.
Knowledge of some of the following CNC machine tools is
preferred. 4 or 5 axis mills, multi-axis lathes with
live tools, mill/turn, swiss CNC lathes, wire EDM and/or
sinker EDM.
