Beacon Industries (Newington, CT) is now searching for a Quality Supervisor to help lead the daily activities of the Quality department. This role is an integral part of Beacon’s Management team, and the ideal candidate will have a continuous improvement background with a concentration on Quality Management Systems, and experience in managing people within a manufacturing environment.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Quality Supervisor is responsible for Quality Control, Engineering, Calibration, and Inspection activities (including incoming, in-process and final inspection) throughout the company. Under direction of the Quality Manager, this role establishes goals, and sets the priorities for the department, ensuring procedures are adhered to in compliance with customer specification, blueprint and Quality Systems requirements.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Leads and directs the daily activities of the Quality Department providing leadership, mentoring, and supervision of personnel. Evaluates and develops employees through performance reviews, ongoing coaching and feedback methods.
• Analyzes and arranges resources in the inspection and quality areas meet production schedules.
• Assists in the development and modification of quality procedures; suggests changes in standards, equipment and gauges to facilitate work and maintain or improve quality.
• Maintains control of non-conforming product and MRB Inventory; leads Root Cause Analysis with a focus on improving and sustaining quality manufacturing process.
• Supports Continuous improvement activities (Kaizen, PFMEA’s) with suggestions, development, and implementation of quality improvements and cost reduction programs.
• Performs FAI sequences and follows procedures referenced in Process/Operation Sheets, Blueprints, Drawings, and other technical documentation to ensure product conformity and quality of product.
• Generates and completes all required documentation to ensure compliance of Quality Systems.
Skills:
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder)
• BS degree in relevant field is required with a minimum of five years of Quality experience. Supervisor experience within Aerospace Manufacturing facility strongly desired.
• Excellent metrology skills, proficient with reading blueprints, GD&T interpretation and application, working knowledge of SPC, and the ability to analyze and summarize data into a management format.
• Holds required OEM DQR/DSQR stamps and AS9100 Lead Auditor Certification.
• Expert-level use of MS Office required. Experience with Visual ERP system is highly desirable.
