Minimum Requirements:
- B.SC Degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- (12-15) years of relevant experience in oil and gas projects.
Basic Function and Duties Performed
- Supervises mechanical engineering design for stationary equipment/packages and development for projects associated with gas production/treatment and transportation.
- Develops statement of requirements for new projects. Provide troubleshooting guidance to operating companies as required.
- Develops and writes statement of requirements for new projects in collaboration with operators and ensures its co-ordination with operator/sponsor.
- Develops the scope of work for consultants and/or engineering contractors.
- Develops Company specifications, standards and guidelines for use in-house or by the contractors with regard to projects undertaken.
- Supervises the design works of consultants/engineering contractors to ensure that they are in accordance with the scope of work. Reviews/approves drawings, specifications and other technical documents for all types of projects incorporating the comments and requirements of the operating entity.
- Audits and manages the work of project management consultant’s specialist and ensures that quality and standards are maintained and cost effective solutions are adopted.
- Reviews bidders lists, bid documents for contract/purchase of equipment such as vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, boilers, air dryers, flare systems etc. Participates in evaluation of tenders/bids/enquiries and approves selection of equipment/packages.
- Design in-house engineering works including drawings, specifications/ data sheets and bills of quantities.
- Audit installations during construction. Witness pre-commissioning of equipment and assures that the installation and the equipment are in accordance with specifications for critical equipment.
- Ensures cost-effective solutions and application of value added engineering throughout the duration of the projects.
- Ensures that state-of-the-art technology is applied in the selectio0n of equipment/packages.
- Renders professional assistance to Projects Management. Supply Division and Projects Control through all phases on ongoing projects
