Have openings ASAP for strong UT Technicians for inspection results interpretation.

Candidates should have solid experience is C-Scan or Phased Array (Paut); those very strong in digital radiography results interpretation may also be considered;

The inspection process is TAI (Thermal Acoustic Imaging), and uses an ultrasonic welder to input piezoelectric/mechanical energy in the part; then an automated infrared scanner to detect temperature changes over time and location. Basically, the piezoelectric energy causes very minute temperature changes, dependent upon the amount of glue and the soundness of the glue bonding between materials; the scanner picks up these temperature changes. The automated program scanned the images, and looks for disbond areas by measuring the contrast between adjacent areas; it flags all areas above a certain level. The leading edge protective cover is inspected from the concave side of the blade; then the leading edge cover and cavity / ribs cover are inspected from the convex side of the blade. A cover image clearly shows the internal structure of the covers and the underlying blade, including ribs and cavities. Rejected areas are verified by humans – some rejected areas are not defects (example - the program cannot distinguish between the blade and surface it is resting on, so it will flag areas not on the blade as rejects).

Training classes are provided for each inspector before they start any interpretation / review;
