Position Summary:

Responsible for inspecting and evaluating refinery equipment to assure safety, mechanical integrity, and reliability activities meet or exceed all company, code and jurisdictional requirements. This is a full-time position, offering a competitive salary and full benefit package.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to the following):

•Develop and manage of On-Stream Ultrasonic Thickness and Profile Thickness Scopes.
•Perform inspections, non-destructive testing and assist in the fitness-for-service evaluations if required on refinery equipment (such as, but not limited to tanks, heaters, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, boilers, piping) to ensure mechanical integrity, safety and reliability.
•Ensure construction and repairs comply with codes, standards and industry practices.
•Analyze inspection findings, prepare reports, and work with engineering to generate repair, upgrade, and modification recommendations based on inspection findings.
•Communicate verbally and in writing to operating, engineering and maintenance staff in clear, organized and effective manner.
•Collaborate with Engineering and Maintenance to establish inspection intervals per applicable industry codes, standards and recommended practices.
•Prepare inspection plan and intervals using electronic databases, and perform calculations of remaining life and corrosion rates.
•Ensure compliance with refinery equipment laws and regulations and applicable industry codes, standards and recommended practices.
•Train and develop junior level inspectors and data entry personnel.
•Oversee contractor quality control inspection reports to maintain proper formatting and consistency.
•Assist in the development of outage and turnaround inspection plans and assist in the execution of those plans.
•Work with Reliability Engineers to make recommendations for repairs when equipment defects are found.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to the following):

•Generate turnaround work scope with collaboration with Engineering, Operations and Maintenance, and coordinate services of contract inspectors.
•Perform root cause analysis, work with engineering to coordinate failure analysis activities and recommending mitigation methods.
•Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance on development and implementation of risk-based routine and preventive maintenance procedures.
•Maintain inspection databases, ensuring that documentation is current, accurate, complete, and compliant.
•Maintain organized and current equipment filing systems.






Skills:
Certified API-653 is required.
Certified API-570/510 and CWI Piping experience is preferred.
Certified SNT-TC1A Level II-MT, PT, and UTT is preferred.

A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in the inspection of fixed equipment and piping systems is required.

High School Diploma/GED required.
