Applied Technical Service (ATS) is seeking Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Assistants to help support our offices during the Spring 2018 outage season. No previous NDT experience required but is a plus. This position includes NDT education and training;
LOCATION: Chattanooga, TN (local applicants encouraged to apply).
START DATE: First week of March 2018.
Responsibilities and Duties:
◾Assist Level II NDT technicians complete various types of NDT inspections both in our facility as well as clients job sites.
◾Set up and breakdown of equipment
◾Surface prep
◾Assist in applying testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results
◾Organize and report test results
◾Perform specialized inspections
◾Perform other job related tasks as assigned
Skills:
High School Diploma or equivalent
◾Shop math and reading skills
◾Must be willing to train in NDT
◾Ability to use basic computer functions for data entry
◾Ability to learn and comply with all company policies and procedures
◾Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
◾Applicants must complete a drug screen and have a valid drivers license with a clean driving record
◾Ability to work independently and as part of a team
◾Working overtime as requested
◾Must be willing to travel
◾Must have a strong work ethic and be self-motivated
◾Dependable
◾Mechanical aptitude
◾Exceptional attention to detail
Must be able to meet the following physical demands:
◾Climbing-ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps
◾Stooping, bending, crouching, reaching
◾Standing-up to 95% of shift
◾Walking, pushing, pulling
◾Lifting in excess of 50 lbs.
