JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
The welding supervisor is responsible for the welding operations at Mississippi Tank Company by periodically monitoring welders to ensure quality and adherence to procedures. The welding supervisor will be in charge of writing WPSs, PQRs, and WPQs. They shall be thoroughly knowledgeable in SAW, SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, and GTAW welding processes and have a drive to teach their knowledge onto the welders within the company. The right candidate will be open and able to developing new welding procedures and techniques. The supervisor will be responsible for evaluating and filtering potential welding new hires. The welding supervisor will be responsible for all charpy impact testing in accordance with ASTM E23. They shall also be responsible for performing Quality Checks on ASME VIII Division 1 pressure vessels to ensure accordance with drawings and the ASME code requirements so therefore, a thorough knowledge of ASME Section VIII Division 1 requirements will be beneficial.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment
This role splits their time between a shop environment and office. The use of welding equipment, measuring devices, and office equipment are daily. The employee will be expected to work around loud noises and smoky areas somewhat frequently. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is semi-frequently exposed to weather.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is semi-active and requires the following positioning requirements with the associated percentage of the workday denoted beside each one: sitting (10%), standing (45%), walking (25%), bending (5%), twisting (5%), kneeling (5%), squatting (5%). The employee must frequently lift or move items up to 50 pounds 1-2 times per day. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Normal days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., 40 hours per week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel
No travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED. A minimum of 4 years’ experience welding and 4 years’ experience working as a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI). CWI certification required. Advanced computer skills.

Preferred Education and Experience
Degree in welding or related field. Advanced computer skills.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Experience in Word, Excel, and other Office products.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance
Lawfully eligible to work in the United States.
