POSITION REPORTS TO: Plant Manager (direct); Manager, Quality Systems (secondary)

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for weld quality produced by the fabrication department
Responsible to ensure that materials and products meet code and customer quality requirements through receipt inspection, in-process fabrication inspection, and final product inspection as defined by internal and external inspection and test plans (ITPs) and quality requirements
Responsible to support the function and development of the Brilex Quality System and assist in Continuous Improvement actions as detailed by the Quality Department and internal stakeholders
MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review ITPs at project kickoff to understand internal and customer quality specifications
- Perform receipt inspection of materials as indicated on Brilex purchase orders
- Monitor in-process quality via execution of dimensional, weld, shot-blast, paint, detailing, packaging, and pre-shipment inspections
- Act as a liaison for 3rd Party NDE (UT/RT), Authorized, or customer inspection activity
- Generate, review, complete, and submit internal inspection reports; Facilitate internal document control process
- Perform internal process audits of established process control and inspection
- Identify non-conformances, execute the NCR process, and support activity related to Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action
- Support Continuous Improvement initiatives and growth of Brilex Quality System through process implementation
Skills:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- AWS Certified Weld Inspector (CWI)
- 5 years of Quality experience in a steel fabrication environment
- Ability to understand and interpret manufacturing code quality standards
- ASME BPVC Division 1, Section VIII U-Stamp experience
- Read and interpret blueprints and quality specifications
- Microsoft Office experience
ADDITIONAL HELPFUL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification
- American Society of Quality certification(s)
- Level I/II NDE (PT/MT) certification
- FARO metrology experience
