Intertek’s Industry Services team provides technical solutions that help customers maximize operational efficiency, ensure asset reliability, improve quality, and minimize safety risks. Some of our many service areas include inspection, non-destructive and materials testing, technical training, engineering, surveying, QA/QC, and supplier auditing.


The Pipe Inspector will support the Industry Services business line by providing assistance to the client in the overall monitoring, surveillance, and/or supervision of the facilities’ activities and the procedures necessary for achieving the desired levels of quality as it pertains to the project.


This will be a casual part-time position, with hours varying by assignment. Location of work is dependent upon the client and supplier, and will vary from project to project.

Duties:

·Participate in project meetings as needed.
·Supervise or work as member of a team of inspectors on a day-to-day basis to ensure effective utilization and timely verification of the project quality objectives.
·Coordinate the flow of information between the inspectors and others including client, contractors, subcontractors, and vendors as appropriate.
·Perform witness testing and verifications, and monitor project activities.
·Review surveillance reports and request technical assistance if specific or quality problems are indicated.
·Provide coordination efforts and assistance as requested by clients.
·May prepare and issue inspection reports.
Skills:
·High School Diploma or GED.
·Familiarity with and ability to interpret and understand national codes, standards, specifications, drawings, and data sheets as they are related to multi-discipline construction projects.
·Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension).
·Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiarity with e-mail and internet communication systems.
·Able to multi-task, work under time constraints, and stay organized.
·Detail oriented.
·High degree of personal integrity and the ability to collaborate with others.
·Strong awareness of all health, safety, and environmental aspects when working on location.
