The API Inspector is responsible for performing inspections in accordance with API standards designated equipment for purposes of recommending and approving repairs or certifying compliance.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Essential Functions

Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy environment by adhering to Company/Customer safety standards and practices. Performs all duties as assigned. Perform internal and external inspections on equipment at scheduled intervals to maintain the mechanical integrity of Customer equipment. Recommend and approve repairs, as well as perform visual inspection of completed repair work. Assists in scheduling activities related to inspections. Write detailed inspection reports and maintain documentation of inspections. Identify circumstances that necessitate the use of proper safety procedures and equipment. Communicate with customers and other parties in such a manner as to benefit Company/Customer relations. Complete all required training, including tests, within Company guidelines. Perform necessary filing of customer and company job related forms and paperwork.

Required Education and Experience
• API 510/570/653 certified
• Minimum five years of experience using at least one of certifications
• Strong technical background in NDT methods and procedures
• Proficient in Microsoft Programs with strong Excel, Word and Outlook skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Physical Demands
• Occasionally this position may be very active and requires standings, walking, ascending and descending; position self by bending, kneeling stooping, crouching; crawling and climbing all day or at various times of day. At this time the employee may frequently safely lift and transport items over 55 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities are required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
o Bending, twisting, crouching
o Prolonged standing
o Climbing fixed and scaffold ladders
o Entering confined spaces through man ways and portholes
o Capable of wearing a full body harness as part of fall protection
o Medically capable of wearing restrictive respiratory protection


Travel
This position requires up to 80% travel. Overnight travel required

Benefits
As a full-time employee, you will be eligible to participate in the Company’s group health insurance plan the first of the month following your hire date. You are also eligible to start accruing forty (40) hours of paid time off (PTO) on a prorated basis after six (6) months of employment. You will be eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) plan after ninety (90) days of service.
