Responsibilities include:  
 
Maintain safe work area; with safety procedures, and equipment operating rules
Demonstrated knowledge and capability to serve as Dimensional Level III / Test Examiner 
Interface with and provide technical assistance to hourly personnel regarding inspection techniques
Responsible for providing oversight to dimensional inspectors in the form of inspector surveillance, verifying inspector compliance, identifying inspector area for improvement and trending inspector performance
Train inspectors in dimensional inspection techniques and develop gage control processes 
Performs Training and Development of other employees. 
Develops training materials 
Reviews, understands revises when necessary and complies with various procedures, work instructions, and component manufacturing plans
Coordinate with shop foreman, manufacturing engineers and other as required to plan, prepare, and setup parts and components for inspection
 
Identify, diagnose and report problems with complex inspection equipment and software.
 
Understand and apply basic ANSI Y14.5 GD&T concepts
 
Be able to read drawings and blueprints to determine inspection requirements 
Independently perform data collection using laser trackers, articulated measuring arms, laser scanners and other types of measuring equipment
 
Develop, evaluate, and implement new inspection technologies and methodologies 
Calculate measurement results from raw data to evaluate acceptability of measurement 
Independently prepares inspection reports using coordinate measurement inspection and analysis software
 
Setup and initialize CMS inspection equipment. Perform field checks approved procedures and processes and evaluate results 
Oversee work performed by CMS Assistants, Trainees, and Level 1 Technicians 
Review and approve the validity of measurement results performed by CMS Asst. and Level 1 and 2 Technicians, taking responsibility for these results by signing inspection plans 
Perform or direct routine maintenance and up keep of CMS equipment 
Travel as required for training and to perform work at other company, vendor and customer facilities
Aid in the development of Detailed Inspection Technique Sheets 
 
Qualifications / Requirements:
Ten years minimum aerospace/government and or precision manufacturing experience 
Applicable Technical Degree or experience in comparable field preferred 
Proficient in all elements of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing for engineering drawings 
Proficient in all elements of geometry, trigonometry, and previous experience with hands on inspection techniques

Position requires U.S. Citizenship (with no dual citizenship) and ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance which involves an extensive criminal and financial background investigation and previous employment reference verifications.
