Position Pupose:
The main function of the Senior Technician Advanced I is to perform Radiographic NAS 410 inspections by interpreting all digital radiograph images taken of castings to determine that discrepancies meet customer specifications and Applus RTD standards. Determine if parts are acceptable or need repair, mark and route parts for necessary repairs and sign final reports that approve castings sent to customers. The Inspector will utilize Radiographic NDT Method, Techniques, and equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
* Reviews specifications and digital radiographs prior to evaluation.
* Checks each radiograph to determine that appropriate sensitivity and film cleanliness.
* Visually evaluates digital radiographs; evaluates density changes to identify casting or welding discontinuities.
* Interprets identified discontinuities to determine their cause and/or whether they meet customer specifications.
* Operates tools and equipment to accomplish job assignments and client requirements
* Inspect and interpret readings as required in real time, to determine areas of interest.
* Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications
* Set-up and calibrate all equipment used, interpret, evaluate, and document results through formal reports
* Safely Operates company vehicles and strictly adhere to company safety regulations
* Direct, mentor, and train personnel in the method(s) in which certified and capable of
* Provide direction and guidance with the codes, standards and other contractual documents that control the method as utilized by the company and client
* Responsible for all paperwork to be turn in a timely manner including safety forms, company required forms, customer forms, and timesheets
* Demonstrate excellent communication skills, professionalism, and promote a positive customer service attitude internally and externally
* Follow and enforce the Company required safe work practices and procedures at all times

* Enforce and abide the requirements of safe operation and personal safety using required Personal Protective Equipment and Safe Practices per company policy
* Perform all other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
* Mentor and train coworkers assigned to you through on the job training in safe work practices, technical skills and compliance with company policy
* Ensure a safe, secure, and legal work environment for all staff ensuring all company policies are being followed

Knowledge and Skills:
* Ability to be certified in accordance with Applus+ written practice in the following methods: RT Film interpretation- Digital and Conventional and NAS 410
* Significant knowledge / experience with film reading
* Experience applying NAS-410 Certification inspections
* Ability to set up and standardize equipment, conducts tests, interpret and evaluate findings in compliance with required specifications, standards and or customer specifications
* Be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the techniques and method in which are to be employed
* Be capable of developing written work instructions from approved general procedures
* Must have working knowledge of MS Office Suite of products
* Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar
* Knowledge of arithmetic and algebra
* Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
* Must have analytical capabilities for customer needs assessment and solutions identification
* A sense of urgency, good attention to detail, and follow-thru
* Knowledge of Industry Codes
* Knowledge of NDT equipment and ability to effectively perform assigned NDT inspections
* Ability to perform a wide variety of tasks and respond to short notice work assignments
* Firmly adheres to the values and ethics of Applus+. Exhibits honesty, discretion, and sound judgment
* Possess excellent communication skills to convey information to customers and colleagues effectively
* Willing to work with others, collaborating and compromising where necessary; promptly share relevant information with others

Education and Work Experience:
* High School Diploma or equivalent required
* Technical Background in NDT methods and techniques for reading film for cast parts
* Minimum of 4+ years of NDT experience with full documentation of prior training, experience and certification is required
* Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position

Certificates and Licenses Required:
* ASNT Level II certification: Radiographer Level II and NAS 410 Certification required
* Must complete company Radiographer - Level 2 training and certification
* Must meet minimum company requirements to operate a company vehicle and be eligible for coverage under Company insurance program
