U.S. Inspection & NDT is looking for Level I NDT Assistant Radiographers to join their operations in Pittsburgh, PA for the Tri-State area of PA, WV, and OH. Level I NDT Assistant Radiographers will assist in performing calibrations, nondestructive tests, and evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations according to written acceptance criteria. We require a 40-hour radiation safety course for all applicants, but we do not require prior experience in the field.
Level I NDT Assistants must be dependable, a fast learner, and a team player with strong work ethic. They must value safety and quality in their work while also having the ability to follow directions, have a mechanical aptitude, and be adoptable to changing schedules. They should have a willingness to travel for work and must provide a clean and valid driver’s license.
Skills:
Responsibilities:
· Assist with the set up and help calibrate nondestructive testing equipment.
· Assist in applying testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results.
· Help conduct proper testing technique (RT, MT, PT, UT, and UTT) to ensure quality or detect discontinuities.
· Help maintain and complete all required records.
· Fill out daily radiation reports.
· Assist in controlling radiation area.
· Follow all safety rules and practices.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
· Overtime may be required in order to meet production goal.
Education and Experience:
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· Level I Certificate preferred
· Industrial Radiography Radiation Safety Personnel (IRRSP) or applicable agreement state card
· Technical background in NDT methods and procedures
· Demonstrated ability to effectively perform assigned NDT tasks and interpret results of inspections
· Knowledge of NDT equipment
Physical Work Demands:
· Work in and near industrial hazards
· Standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, talking, hearing, visual acuity, accommodation and color vision
· Moving, carrying, lifting, objects in excess of 60 lbs
· Climbing and working with ladders, stairs, and scaffolding in excess of 100 ft
· Working extended hours and standing for extended periods of time
· Work in indoor and outdoor environments in conditions of extreme heat and cold
