				Position Title: NDT Trainee
Reports to: Nondestructive Testing Manger
Department: Nondestructive and Technical Services
Position Summary: The NDT Trainee will work with the Level II Technician for a period of 8 to 12 months to become a Nondestructive Testing Technician in the Magnetic Particle and Liquid Penetrant inspection methods.
Essential Duties (include but not limited to):
•	Assist with RT, MT, PT, and VT inspections to ASME, AWS and API 1104 standards.
•	Evaluate results per code of construction and/or customer requirements.
•	Assist in preparation of inspection/examination reports in a timely and accurate manner.
•	Assist in maintaining NDT equipment in accordance with federal/state/local requirements.
•	Provide support to mechanical and welding department.
•	Maintain clean and safe work environment. Follows safety and environmental procedures and regulations. Reports safety incidents to supervisor.
Other Duties:
•	Participate in training/learning other positions.
•	Makes recommendations for improvements to work processes.
•	Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Looks for ways to improve and promote. quality; Able to approach/evaluate a problem from many angles.
•	Perform other duties as required.
Requirements:
•	High school diploma or equivalent
•	Pass an annual eye exam.
•	Agree to pre-employment and random drug alcohol testing.
•	Agree to criminal background check.
•	Physical ability to walk/climb through pipe and lift 50lbs.
Beneficial Attributes:
•	Technical Degree.
•	Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations.
•	Knowledge of ASME BPVC Section I, VIII, IX, B31.1 and B31.3
•	Knowledge of relevant API and AWS Codes.
•	Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite products.

•	Ability to read and write in English.
•	Ability to read, analyze, and interpret work instructions, technical specifications, and acceptance criteria.
•	Reading, writing, calculating, working under pressure.
•	Speaks and writes clearly and informatively; Responds well to questions; Practices active listening; exhibits discretion.
•	Lifting, climbing, and stooping.
•	Travel as required (local, as well as overnight).
•	Ability to deal with stressful situations.
Location: Providence, RI with regular travel as needed.
