We are seeking an experienced Software Manager to lead a high-performing team in developing innovative software products for advanced X-ray Radiography and Computed Tomography solutions. This individual will play a key role in guiding technical decisions, fostering innovation, and ensuring seamless collaboration across departments to meet our business objectives. They will lead the development of advanced image processing and industrial system capabilities, manage the software lifecycle, and stay at the forefront of software and machine learning advancements.
This role reports to the Innovation Director and is located at NSI’s Rogers, MN facility with up to 5% travel.
Responsibilities
• Lead the design and architecture of scalable, maintainable software solutions that align with business requirements and industry-leading standards.
• Foster a collaborative, results-driven work environment that promotes innovation, continuous improvement, and team success.
• Manage the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
•Oversee the maintenance and evolution of our software platforms, ensuring smooth integration with hardware systems.
•Collaborate closely with mechanical and control engineering teams to develop integrated system solutions.
•Partner with hardware engineering managers to ensure seamless system architecture development across software, mechanical, and control systems.
•Drive large, cross-departmental projects, simplifying complex technical solutions and ensuring high-quality project delivery on time.
•Lead the design and deployment of AI/ML pipelines for X-ray imaging, defect detection, and system optimization.
•Stay current with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in scientific imaging and non-destructive testing (NDT).
•Actively participate in customer presentations, conferences, and feedback sessions to ensure our solutions align with market needs.
Skills:
•Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Physics, or a related field with a focus on advanced scientific imaging; PhD preferred.
•A minimum of 3 years of direct people management experience, demonstrating an ability to mentor and lead technical teams toward success through clear direction, constructive feedback, and performance management.
•A minimum of 5 years of experience working in fields related to the reconstruction of 3D imaging, such as X-ray, PET imaging, MRI, or similar non-destructive imaging technologies.
•Proven track record in leading software architecture decisions, delivering scalable and maintainable solutions.
•Experience in managing cross-functional teams and contributing to large, multi-disciplinary projects.
•Familiarity with AI/ML techniques for imaging classification, flaw detection, and system optimization for X-ray imaging workflow
•Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical challenges and foster strong collaboration across departments.
