Acuren Inspection is currently looking for Combo Welders for 2nd Quarter turnaround in North Dakota.



Starts May 10, 2025
The project dates are 5/10 - 5/26 possibly longer
7/12s for the duration of the project
$200/day per diem

Acuren Inspection is currently looking Combo Mig & Tig welders to support our operations in North Dakota. This position will perform welding for casting upgrades, grind/rework/prep areas that require welding, and general mechanical duties. Works with numerous ASTM, MIL-standards, AWS & ASME-approved procedures as well as – Welding: MIG, TIG, Plasma & Orbital, Brazing: Torch Brazing & Silver Solder, Stress Relieve: Recirculating hot-air oven, aging and embrittlement relief. 



Responsibilities
Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures   
Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements   
Set up components for welding according to specifications.   
Operate straight and angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded   
Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces   
Repair castings and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps   
Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws   
Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety   
Experience running or reviewing MVR’s (Motor Vehicle Reports) and experience submitting or reviewing background checks.   
Ability to organize and prioritize work while meeting deadlines.   
Excellent grasp of industry terminology.   
Strong accuracy and attention to detail.   
Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.  


Other work duties as assigned
Skills:
A minimum of 3 years welding experience
Candidate should have a basic welding aptitude, 2 year technical degree or related work experience preferred
Welder shall be familiar with ASME and AWS Guideline Codes such as, but not limited to; B31.3 and D1,1
STICK & TIG welding experience required
Advanced mechanical capabilities   
Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG specifically)    
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings   
Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)   
Metal preparations, remove discontinuities or defects prior to any repairs made by welding   
Upon completion of weld repairs, surface contours require additional grinding and finishing to meet client’s specification
