Summary:  ATS Mechanical Integrity Group needs a Resident Inspector to serve as a UT Program Lead for direct on-site support at customer facility in Syracuse, New York.  They will run the daily UT program through collation of UT schedule requirements, coordination of UT testing with other technician(s) including self-perform of thickness testing as needed to support a thorough and timely testing strategy, and review of all UT data to ensure accuracy of the program database.  In addition, the UT Program Lead maintains organization and documentation of UT testing points on piping, tanks, and vessels, including updating of UT maps as needed to ensure thorough and accurate inspection of existing, new, and modified assets.  Finally, the UT Program Lead coordinates with offsite specialist resources, including RT crews, to incorporate additional thickness data into the thickness monitoring program.  This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week.  Relocation assistance is available.

Specific activities include:

Daily scheduling of UT testing
Monitoring of data entry into Mechanical Integrity database (PSAim) to ensure quality of data being entered
Monitoring of low-remaining life data report in PSAim and verification of data in field as necessary to ensure accuracy of report
Validation of thickness data coverage of existing assets, creation of additional inspection points as appropriate and as agreed with separate API 570 lead, and then coordination/execution of inspection of those points including potential working from mobile platforms and ladders
Working with separate drafting team to enter new pipes into database and/or correct data on existing pipes (numbering, description, nominal thickness, etc) through assignment of new TML's and conversion of existing UT data to new TML numbering.
Update piping isometrics to show current TML’s
Training others (Owner and Contractor employees) to support NDT work
Making suggestions for updates to site NDT procedures as necessary to improve the program.
UTSW weld inspection for new piping fabrication
Skills:
Requirements:

Minimum 5-years UT experience including current certifications in ASNT-TC1A UT/PT/MT Level 2
Certification for confined space entry and mobile platforms (eg boom lifts)
Excellent professionalism and work ethic
Outstanding commitment to and history of executing work safely
Strong attention to detail
Minimum 1-year experience working with Mechanical Integrity computer databases
Ability to work overtime and weekends if needed
Ability to work at heights and enter small confined spaces
High School Diploma or Bachelor of Science in Mechanical/Structural Engineering or closely related field preferred.
Must be proficient with reports, especially Excel Spreadsheets and similar formats.
Must be local to the Upstate New York or willing/able to relocate to the area.
Desired Skills:

One or more years experience as UT Shearwave Level 2
Experience with PSAim
Experience with MS Excel and MS Word
Experience as lead technician or support for digital radiography of piping
Experienced leading small teams as a lead technician
API 570 certification or interest/ability to gain API certifications in future
Experience:

8-10 years’ experience in mechanical reliability, tank/vessel/piping inspections, or design and MI program management.
Plant engineering experience
Industrial inspection, operations, and maintenance experience
Process improvement experience
Strong leadership skills and ability to work unsupervised
Strong organizational skills
Ability to write reports detailing assessments and results
Experience with Microsoft Office applications and AutoCAD
Ability to multi-task and work in a growing environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Power-point, AutoCAD
