Metalogic Inspection Services is seeking a qualified NDE Technician in the Houston, Texas area. This full-time, benefited position is ideal for a motivated individual with experience in non-destructive examination (NDE/NDT) methods. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various NDE inspections, interpreting data, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety protocols.
The NDE Technician will operate and maintain testing equipment, document inspection results, and collaborate with project teams in various industrial environments. This role requires a strong understanding of NDE techniques, applicable codes and standards, and the ability to adapt to dynamic work conditions and schedules.
Primary Job Functions
• Perform NDE inspections using appropriate techniques (PT, MT, UTT) and equipment to detect and evaluate discontinuities.
• Interpret and analyze inspection data to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate documentation.
• Collaborate with project teams to provide technical expertise and support.
• Conduct regular equipment maintenance and calibration to ensure accurate and reliable results.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.
• Ensure all testing is conducted in accordance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and equipment calibration.
Job Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of approved classroom training in NDE methods.
• Documentation of on-the-job training (OJT).
• Previous Level II certification or the ability to certify.
Working Conditions
• Duties are primarily performed outdoors in industrial environments such as plants or fabrication yards, often exposed to varying weather conditions.
• Regular interaction with team members, supervisors, and clients is required, necessitating strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Work may take place in high-noise areas near operational machinery, requiring adherence to hearing protection protocols.
• Assignments may be located in remote or isolated areas, with limited access to amenities.
• Must be physically capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs on a frequent basis.
• Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as mandated by the safety department, including but not limited to hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots.
• May be assigned to multiple job sites within a single day and must be adaptable to frequent climate and environmental changes.
• Occasional travel to out-of-town job sites may be required.
• Must be available for on-call assignments, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• May be required to work extended shifts, depending on operational needs.
