The Stoke Space manufacturing team is building a fully reuseable orbital launch system. This is being accomplished by employing engineering first principles to re-think how spacecraft are designed, built, and inspected.
Stoke’s manufacturing team is seeking to add to its inspection team which will be a critical asset in this endeavor. As a part of this team, you must be comfortable and able to break down problems into fundamental elements and avoid assumptions to solve difficult problems, be comfortable with having extreme ownership of day-to-day and long term challenges, and have unrelenting commitment to quality. This role will require focus, agility, ability to learn on-the-fly, a desire to learn new skills and have a devotion to constantly improving your processes. Honesty and trust are fundamental to success.
Responsibilities:
Perform nondestructive inspections on flight hardware, interpret results, and provide accept/reject dispositions
Coordinate with responsible engineers, manufacturing engineers, welders, and upstream/downstream stakeholders on schedule and inspection results
Develop inspection work plans and procedures
Interpret industry and internal standards and procedures
Work with teammates at all levels to improve yours and their processes
Ensure inspections are meeting design intent and provide useful results
Maintain trust and integrity with stakeholders and team members
Determine the best inspection possible for a variety of product forms and weld processes, including GTAW, MIG, laser, and electron beam weldments
Stay up-to-date with the start of the art in inspection processes
Qualifications
Qualify to be certified to Level II in liquid penetrant testing and/or radiography (film or non-film) per SNT-TC-1A requirements—candidates with liquid penetrant experience that do not meet the certification requirements of ASNT SNT-TC-1A will also be considered if they are certifiable in eddy current as a Level II
Exceptional communication and organizational skills
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawing requirements
Firm understanding of industry standards such as ASTM 1417 and AWS D17.1
Demonstrated creativity in process improvement
Demonstrated trust and honesty
Exceptional commitment to quality and customer satisfaction
Being comfortable leading and having extreme ownership of your process
Able to lift 40 pounds or more
Able to stand for long time periods
Meet minimum vision requirements: 20/25 (Snellen) at 16" +/- 1", or Jaeger No. 1 at not less than 12"
Willing to work overtime, including the occasional weekend

Compensation
Target Levels:
Level 1: $25.00 - $36.68
Level 2: $30.58 - $45.87
