Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and certified NDT Level 3 Technician in Radiographic Testing (RT) to join our team. This role provides technical leadership, procedural oversight, and hands-on expertise in RT inspection within our aerospace operations. The Level 3 will be responsible for ensuring compliance with company and customer requirements, overseeing certification processes, developing procedures, and mentoring Level 1 and 2 technicians.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of NDT methodology, strong leadership skills, and a passion for quality and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the technical authority for Radiographic Testing (RT) at the facility.
Oversee the preparation, revision, and approval of NDT procedures and work instructions.
Set up, calibrate, and operate RT equipment; evaluate and interpret results; generate reports.
Provide daily floor leadership, training, and mentorship for Level 1 and 2 personnel.
Administer, grade, and maintain qualification and certification exams per XRI-2002, NAS 410, and SNT-TC-1A.
Interface with customers and internal stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
Conduct inspections on aerospace castings, weldments, machined parts, and assemblies.
Provide oversight of NDT personnel certification and employee development plans.
Assist in inventory control and material planning for inspection-related equipment and supplies.
Participate in internal safety audits and maintain clean, safe, and compliant work environments.
Support cross-training initiatives and method expansion, including DR, CT, UT, PT, and MT.
Represent X-Ray Industries professionally and ethically in all interactions.
Education and Work Experience:
High School Diploma or GED required (documentation required).
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. (Visa sponsorship not available).
Minimum of 4 years as a Level 2 in RT is required.
Documented training, examination, and experience per NAS 410, SNT-TC-1A, and XRI-2002.
Experience working with aerospace components and associated standards is preferred.
General knowledge of other NDT methods and product inspection technologies is desirable:
Liquid Pnetrant (PT)
Magnetic Particle (MT)
Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
Digital Radiography (DR)
Computed Tomography (CT)
Certificates and Licenses Required:
Must be certifiable to Level 3 in Radiographic Testing (RT) per XRI-2002, NAS 410, and SNT-TC-1A.
Prior Level 2 certification in RT is required.
Must meet company requirements to operate a vehicle and be eligible for company insurance (if applicable).
Certification or eligibility for certification in other NDT methods (PT, MT, UT, DR, CT) is a plus.
Valid state-issued ID required.
