We are looking for an experienced and certified Ultrasonic Testing (UT) Technician – Level II to join our inspection team. This role requires a professional with strong technical skills to perform and interpret ultrasonic testing in accordance with industry standards. The UT Level II Technician will be responsible for setting up and calibrating equipment, conducting inspections, and evaluating results with minimal supervision.
Location: CA-Rancho Dominguez
Salary: $26-34/hour DOE (Depending on Experience)
Performance Bonus: Receive a $2,500 signing bonus after successfully certifying at Level 2 within 45 days of hire
(and be able to successfully run the automated equipment)
Additional $1/hour pay for shift working (working on 2nd shift from 1:00pm - 9:30pm)
Responsibilities
Perform non-destructive testing on materials, components, and structures according to specific testing procedures and customer specifications.
Interpret and evaluate inspection results, identify discontinuities, and determine their relevance to product integrity.
Set up and calibrate UT equipment and tools based on specific testing procedures including scanners, ultrasonic equipment, and eddy current equipment.
Document findings and generate detailed technical reports in accordance with codes and customer requirements.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
Collaborate with other technicians in testing and interpretation of test results.
Guide Level I UT Technicians as needed
Continuously improve skills and knowledge through training and development opportunities.
Skills:
Skills / Qualifications
High school diploma or GED; post-secondary technical training in NDT or a related field is preferred.
Minimum 2–5 years of hands-on experience in ultrasonic testing.
Must have completed classroom NDT UT Training Hours
Willing to work from 1-9:30pm Monday through Friday, willing to work overtime up to 4 hours/day. Must be willing to work Saturdays up to 6 hours at least twice a month.
Technical/mechanical aptitude and computer proficiency preferred
Able to prioritize critical work activities and use time effectively
Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Willing to learn new processes and procedures
