Position Overview

Crestone NDT is seeking a qualified AMPP (formerly NACE) Certified Coating Inspector to oversee and manage a coating inspection program for industrial projects located near Indianapolis, Indiana. This position will begin with an initial assignment running from late February through May, with additional project opportunities extending up to two years.

The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring all coating preparation and application activities comply with project specifications, industry standards, and quality control requirements.

Responsibilities

Perform coating inspections in accordance with AMPP standards and project specifications
Verify surface preparation (SSPC/NACE standards)
Monitor environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, dew point)
Inspect abrasive blasting and cleanliness levels
Measure surface profile and DFT (Dry Film Thickness)
Witness adhesion testing when required
Document inspection activities through daily reports
Communicate effectively with contractors, owners, and project management
Ensure coating application meets manufacturer and specification requirements

Requirements

Current AMPP (NACE) Coating Inspector Certification (Level 1 or higher)
Experience overseeing industrial coating projects

Must be located near or willing to work near Indianapolis, Indiana
