Responsibilities:
Field testing of Structural Steel for compliance with AISC, AWS, and/or project specifications.
Review of project documents in preparation of field observations on construction sites.
Interpret code and/or quality control requirements.
Documentation of field activities, observations, and testing results on construction projects, and their conformance or deviation from project plans and specifications.
Use of aerial lifts, ladders, and elevated platforms to conduct daily inspections.
Skills:
Requirements:
ICC Structural Steel and Bolting Certification.
Experience with observing Structural Steel bolting and welded connections.
Understanding of Special Inspections, tracking what has been inspected, and tracking of items noted as discrepancies.
Ability to explain and interpret code and/or quality control requirements.
