The IR Thermography Technician is responsible for performing ground and aerial based infrared inspections of overhead distribution and transmission electrical infrastructure, and all applicable use cases across the western United States. This role conducts thermal scanning on a variety of assets and equipment in the electrical utility, oil and gas, and commercial industries. This position is a contract field role with strong opportunity to support multiple programs and clients as Acuren continues to grow its infrared inspection business across the western United States.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Demonstrated excellence in work ethic
Effective interpersonal and communication skills
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office products; familiarity with GPS data logging, circuit tracker management, and GIS-based route data preferred
A strong focus on safety and quality

EDUCATION:
Infrared Thermography certification (ASNT or equivalent) required at the Level II or Level III required
Minimum 1–5 years of infrared inspection experience in field environments; prior overhead utility line IR inspection experience strongly preferred.
Experience with overhead distribution or transmission electrical infrastructure IR inspection is preferred; prior utility contractor program experience is a strong asset
Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout the contract period across multiple districts in the western United States.
Valid Driver’s License and clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) required; ability to operate a full-size 4WD pickup truck on mountain, rural, and off-road terrain
