We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and technically driven Radiography Level III professional to support advanced nondestructive testing (NDT) operations across the aerospace, defense, and energy sectors. This position offers the opportunity to expand technical expertise in Industrial Radiography utilizing Film Radiography, Computed Radiography (CR), Digital Radiography (DR), and Computed Tomography (CT) while supporting some of the industry’s most demanding inspection programs.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader with strong interpretive capability, procedural knowledge, and a desire to continuously grow within advanced imaging technologies and emerging digital inspection platforms.
This role requires the ability to support and maintain certifications to stringent industry, government, and OEM requirements, including successful completion of NAVSEA and customer-specific examinations and approvals.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform and oversee industrial radiographic inspections utilizing:
o Film Radiography (RT)
o Computed Radiography (CR)
o Digital Radiography (DR)
o Computed Tomography (CT)
• Interpret radiographic images and evaluate discontinuities in accordance with applicable codes, specifications, and customer requirements
• Develop, review, approve, and maintain radiographic techniques and procedures
• Support qualification and certification of NDT personnel in accordance with NAS 410, SNT-TC-1A, NAVSEA, and customer-specific requirements
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Level I and Level II personnel
• Support process development, technique optimization, and implementation of advanced digital radiography technologies
• Interface directly with customers, auditors, engineering teams, and regulatory representatives
• Support internal and external audits including NADCAP, OEM, and government audits
• Maintain compliance with radiation safety requirements and applicable regulations
• Assist with equipment selection, validation, calibration, and maintenance activities
• Support failure analysis, process improvement initiatives, and production readiness activities
• Prepare technical reports, inspection documentation, and customer deliverables
• Travel periodically to customers or field locations as required
Skills:
Required Qualifications
• Current or previous certification as an NDT Radiography Level III
• Demonstrated experience in Industrial Radiography within aerospace, energy, or related industries
• Strong working knowledge of:
o Film Radiography
o Computed Radiography (CR)
o Digital Radiography (DR)
o Computed Tomography (CT)
• Ability to interpret complex radiographic indications and support technical disposition activities
• Experience developing and approving radiographic techniques and procedures
• Familiarity with NAS 410, SNT-TC-1A, ASTM, ASME, NAVSEA, and OEM requirements
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced technical environment while maintaining high quality standards
• Ability and willingness to successfully complete industrial-specific qualification examinations for NAVSEA and various OEM customers
Preferred Qualifications
• ASNT Level III certification in Radiography (RT)
• Experience supporting NADCAP accredited environments
• Experience with aerospace castings, weldments, composites, additive manufacturing, or propulsion systems
• Experience with digital imaging software, image processing, and CT reconstruction systems
• Familiarity with automated or robotic inspection systems
• Multi-method NDT certifications are a plus
• Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) experience preferred
