ElyoniX is recruiting on behalf of a leading aerospace manufacturer for a Level III Trainee – NDT position in the NJ area. This opportunity is ideal for experienced Level II RT/X-Ray or FPI/PT professionals looking to advance toward Level III certification and technical leadership responsibilities.
The Level III Trainee program is designed to develop future NDT Level III personnel through structured training, mentorship, and hands-on experience. The selected candidate will split time between production inspection activities and assisting the primary Level III with technical, training, audit, and process improvement responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
• Assist with internal, customer, and third-party audits
• Support training and qualification of Level I and Level II inspectors
• Assist with NDT technique development, reviews, and approvals
• Interpret specifications, procedures, and customer requirements
• Perform system checks, calibrations, and equipment monitoring
• Maintain NDT records and documentation
• Support production inspections using RT/X-Ray and/or FPI/PT methods
• Participate in process improvement and technology implementation projects
• Interface with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and customers on NDT-related matters
• Complete training requirements leading toward Secondary Level III certification
Skills:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience in Radiographic Testing (RT/X-Ray), Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI/PT), or both
• Current or previous Level II certification preferred (NAS 410, ASNT, or equivalent)
• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, procedures, and blueprints
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Computer proficiency including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Ability to train and mentor inspection personnel
• Aerospace manufacturing or casting experience preferred
• Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional nights and weekends
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
