IQC is a veteran owned NDT and special inspection firm founded in 2014. We work on water and wastewater infrastructure, pipelines, storage tanks, oil and gas, utilities, and public works projects across California. Our clients include public agencies and the general contractors that build for them. We run small, highly qualified crews and we pay people for the certifications they carry.
Field welding inspection on public works and industrial projects between San Diego and Los Angeles, with occasional travel to other parts of the state.
What you would be doing:
•Visual weld inspection to AWS D1.1, D1.5, D1.6, API 650/653/1104, ASME Section IX and B31.3 depending on the project
•Reviewing WPS, PQR, and welder qualification records, and witnessing welder qualification testing
•Verifying fit up, preheat, interpass temperature, consumable control, and post weld conditions
•Monitoring subcontracted NDT and reviewing test results
•Writing daily reports and NCRs the same day the work happens
•Working directly with agency inspectors, resident engineers, and contractor QC on site
•Field MT, PT, and UT if you carry those certifications
Pay and benefits
•Prevailing wage, W2, paid per the current DIR determination for the applicable classification and county
•Overtime and shift differentials paid per the same determination
•Company provided PPE, inspection gauges, and instrumentation
•Mileage, per diem, and lodging covered for out of area assignments
•We pay for certification renewals and continuing education, and we will fund additional NDT certifications for the right person

•Able to read and apply project specifications, drawings, and welding codes on your own
•Valid California driver license, reliable transportation, and a clean driving record
•Able to pass a background check and drug screen for agency and refinery sites
