April 20, 2015 — Today, Medit, Inc. announced immediate availability of the new sophisticated pipe inspection robot from English manufacturers – Stormer S3000. The new device combines three critical features that clients always look for in a viewing device: high-performance, longevity, and affordability.
"Stormer S3000 allows you to conduct long-range inspections with great ease and get a complete picture of the pipeline interior at just one run. It features highly scalable design, adjustable illumination and crawler speed to fit your specific inspection requirements. With all its components manufactured from extremely durable materials to meet the demands of various industrial inspections, the Stormer S3000 Pipe Inspection Robot is one of the most robust viewing devices in the market today. However, it features sophisticated insides that allow users to receive informative reports from pipeline of various diameters and lengths.
The pan-and-tilt camera with continuous rotation features a super sensitive (0.5 lux) CMOS chip (720x576 pixels) that captures every detail of the pipeline interior. Add to that high-output adjustable LED illumination that provides even, stable light distribution in any lighting situation, and you receive clear, sharp, detailed picture of the area of interest. The camera is protected by waterproof, Stainless steel housing with Aluminum anodized finish and withstands up to 5.5 bar pressure (55 meters in fresh water).
The control unit with LED backlit 10.4" TFT flat panel monitor, DVR and keyboard is packed in a portable, sturdy Pelican case. Inspection process can be displayed on site, recorded in MPEG2 format and saved to the hard drive or a USB stick. The system uses software compatible with WinCan and allows up to 6 pages of text comments input.
The insertion probe is a robust, wear-resistant, multi-core, Kevlar braided cable designed for multiple long-range inspections in various environments. The Stormer pipe inspection robot comes with a standard 200m (656'), but is also available with a 250 m (820') probe.
The crawler’s speed and design can be easily adjusted to fit specific inspection requirements: it features two camera mounts (on top and at the front) and different diameter wheel sets. Optional accessories include inclinometer that sends data on pipe gradient to OSD for display.
