Aerotech Inspection Expands Into India

or many years Aerotech Inspection & NDT Ltd have been a market leading supplier of non-destructive testing across the UK. Offering a multitude of non-destructive testing services including radiography, surface inspection and ultrasonic testing Aerotech have served a wide spectrum of industries from their head office in Cradley Heath, West Midlands and their satellite facility in Yeovil.
Now, recognising that India is one of the fastest growing economies in the world, Aerotech have opened their first international office based in Dharwad, India.
The new Company known as Aerotech Inspection and NDT [India] PVT Ltd is based close to a major supplier of investment castings to the aerospace industry. From their they will not only provide a more local and comprehensive support for this customer, but also use it as a base to offer services to a wider market in India.
Aerotech (India) will be managed by Mr Somnath Jagtap, a very experienced and highly qualified NDT and auditing professional, who, along with other qualifications, currently holds ASNT Level III certification in six NDT disciplines, and with experience in a variety of industry sectors ranging from heavy metal forming to on wing aerospace applications.
From the start the radiographic functions of the facility are being totally designed around digital technology, there will be no wet film processing involved.
The radiographic systems at the new facility will feature GE CR Flex (v2) systems, similar to those already in operation at the Cradley Heath, West Midlands laboratory, where the Digital Radiography Manager, Duncan Clarke will familiarise Somnath with the technology and the Aerotech procedures relating to these systems, prior to him sitting formal EN 4179/NAS 410 certifications.
New branch manager Somnath Jagtap has said "I am very pleased and excited to be joining Aerotech Inspection and to be leading their new venture in India. I have worked in the industry for many years and this role gives me the opportunity to bring those skills and knowledge together to provide a service to many businesses across India. I recognise Aerotech’s core values of quality, confidence and flexibility to customers’ needs and believe we will be able to offer non-destructive testing services at a level not currently available in India."
Managing Director Jim Needham states "this latest development is another big step forward for Aerotech Inspection and NDT Ltd , not only does it give us the chance to develop new markets in India, but it is also the opportunity to further develop latest NDT testing technologies as everyday inspection tools."
