I'm new to performing UT inspections. Jero Inc. manufactures Stubend fittings: Basically we weld a flange onto a small piece of pipe to create a fitting to be used to attach two pieces of pipe in a fluid pipe line. We need to inspect the welded flange for flaws. My question(s) are/is: 1.)What standard regulates the UT procedure for this type of mfgd part? 2.)Do we have to use an immersion system? 3.)Anyone know the best place to purchase a new/used system?

Manufacturing companies that weld structural steel are required by the client to follow AWS standards since that is the standard that the welders test to.. You didnt state if the pipe was machine welded or not and the quantity of welds.. These are critical factors when deciding whether to by an immersion tank...I
